Since I’m moving this week and summer is coming to a close, I thought I’d share my list of the delicious things I’m looking forward to making this fall. What fall recipes are you looking forward to making and eating in the fall season?
1. Rice, and lots of it (watch out, waistline!). Read Fig & Quince’s definitive guide to all things polo!
2. What’s fall without some beautiful soups? Here’s one of my favorite, versatile recipes for Butternut Squash Soup from Once Upon a Chef – I like to saute some sausage and put it at the bottom of the soup bowl for a salty surprise!
3. What smells incredible, comes in individual serving sizes and takes hours to make ? Dolmeh Felfel! It’s totally worth the work – make this on a rainy day and you will be rewarded with a delicious, hearty meal at the end.
4. Don’t think I forgot about the sweets! I’ve been wanting to make these Apple Cider Caramels from Smitten Kitchen for ages! They’re a bit of work, but then again I love me a project! This is the fall that I make this one happen! 🙂
5. No post on the interwebs this week would be complete without a mention of the new iPhone… so the obvious conclusion next step is to make edible iPhone cases!
6. And a shout out to one of my favorite bloggers making my very favorite cocktail – Cocoa & Lavender’s Aperol (or Venetian) Spritz!
7. For all those who want to cling to every last shred of summer – one last summer recipe that will make the transition a bit tastier, The Unmanly Chef’s Summer Squash Fritters:
8. To me, my memory of the smell of fall was something apple-y and cinnamon-y baking when I got home from school. Here’s Della Cucina Povera’s classic apple strudel – easy and delicious!
9. And because we all love emoji’s… read one woman’s story chronicling her week on an all-emoji diet. Yes, it’s what you think.
10. Last but certainly not least, no fall food post would be complete without something pumpkin-y – here’s a unique, savory twist on pumpkin that I am really looking forward to trying from The View from Great Island – not to mention those mouthwatering photos!
What dish do you most associate with fall?

Ahu, what a lovely idea for a blog post – there is actually not one single recipe that comes to my mind but, personally, I love, love recipes with Italian plums and I always look forward to my first old-fashioned Plum Torte…and I start making spice mixes for my baking…nothing beats the smell of the lovely warm spices in autumn.
Have a great weekend,
Andrea
When I think of autumn, walnuts, apples, figs, pumpkins come to my mind. Those chocolate iphones are so fun!
Have a great weekend, Ahu!

I’m looking forward to cooking with lots of pumpkins and apples. And, now I have to try that pumpkin cornbread!
Thanks for the shout out, Ahu! I think I might need to make some Dolmeh Felfel soon – forgot how much I love them 🙂
I want to try so many of these! And thank you so much for the shout out. I was just thinking that it was time for a spritz! 🙂
Those “manly” fritters caught my eye too. Nice collection. I most associate Savory Pies. I plan to make one today (unless it get hot again). GREG
They all sound lovely, specially I love Fig&Qunice Polow 😉
